Charles Marker

Charles Glen Marker died peacefully in his sleep at home on Sunday, May 15, 2011 with his wife Isobel of 69 years and his two daughters Leslie and Kate at his side.

Glen was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on Nov. 27, 1918. He served as a pilot in the Army Air Corps in World War II, flying B-24 supply planes over the Himalayas from India to China.

He was a gifted and successful artist. Isobel and Glen moved to Whidbey Island in 1984 and enjoyed their retirement years there, playing golf at Useless Bay Golf & Country Club for many years.

He is survived by his wife Isobel; daughters Leslie Marker Clark and her husband Colin and Kathy (Kate) Marker McNa and her husband Rodney; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held in his honor in July.
