Cloud Anderson

Born in Chicago, Ill. on Dec. 19, 1946, Cloud Anderson passed from this life on May 10, 2006.

Beloved by family and a large community of friends, Cloud’s sudden passing is deeply mourned by many. He leaves behind his devoted and loving wife Andi Amdal; his mother Joan Anderson who resides in Rochester, Mass.; his brother Don Anderson and his wife Kay who live in Marion, Mass.; his son Erin and daughter Sarah Anderson who live in Ferndale, as well as a multitude of friends.

Ever searching for knowledge, Cloud was a student at California Polytechnic Institute in San Luis Obispo, and the University of California at Santa Barbara, Calif. He also studied extensively at the San Francisco Zen Center under Zen Master Suzuki Roshi. Cloud became a Gestalt/Neo Reichian Therapist and received Shamanic training under Harry Roberts of the Urok Tribe of Northern California.

As a counselor Cloud sought to integrate mind, body and spirit in his work as a Neo/Reichian Therapist. As a teacher of Tai Chi, Cloud touched many lives. As a highly regarded professional, with these disciplines and compassionate caring, Cloud helped many to reach their true potential. He was active in the many aspects of spiritual matters and in issues concerning the youth of the community. Ever an articulate speaker he was a true leader. A man of many talents Cloud was an accomplished musician, artist, poet and writer. Helping others and being of service to the community, he was active in environmental projects, which were of prime importance to him.

To honor his memory, in lieu of flowers, the family says that any donations given in his name to Hearts and Hammers would be greatly appreciated.

A potluck memorial celebration of Cloud’s life will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, May 21 at Aldermarsh, 6436 Maxwelton Road, Clinton.
