Delite Larson

Delite M. Larson quietly passed away on January 4, 2012 at her residence.

She was born in Seattle on February 15, 1920 to Jacob Leo and Delite Cordelia Carson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin O. Larson, in 1981. They had a wonderful, happy marriage of 42 years and had 3 children.

She leaves her son Michael Larson (Sue) of Langley, two daughters Mardel Jones (Peter) of Lynden, & Carol Scharnikow of Bothell, brother Arne Carson of Mercer Island. She also is survived by her grandchildren, Michelle Carney, Brian Longanecker, Mathew, Adam and Christopher Larson, Kegan and Bill Scharnikow, 10 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She attended Ballard High School in Seattle and upon graduation married the love of her life Marvin. Together they were active in the Lutheran Church, in both Boy and Girl Scouts, the PTA, the Grange, and the National Rifle Association. They became a foster family for more than twenty Lutheran Brotherhood children.

She loved life, having family reunions and always had room for one more at her table. During her long & happy life she was employed as a bookkeeper, auditor.

She moved to Whidbey Island in 2005 and fully enjoyed her tenure at the Maple Ridge Community and especially as a charter resident at the assisted living facility where “…the food is good and the people are friendly”. She also enjoyed the services at Trinity Lutheran Church. She loved music and was a faithful attendee of the Friday dances at the Senior Center.

She will be missed by her friends and family. Graveside service for the family was held January 7, 2012. Remembrances may be sent to your favorite charity.
