Doreen Walsh

Doreen S. Walsh, 91, of Langley, passed away Feb. 22, 2011.

She was born May 29, 1919, in St. Austell, Cornwall, England.

Doreen graduated from Chelsea College in 1940 and became a lecturer shortly after. She taught physical education in schools and colleges throughout England and Scotland for 40 years.

She married Douglas Walsh shortly after

World War II. Thirty years ago Doreen moved to the United States and was an intricate part of her family’s lives until her death.

In 1962, Doreen joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was an active and faithful member of the church. She devoted her life to serving others both in her career, and in her personal life as a woman of great faith. She quietly donated her time, money and talents to those around her.

Doreen is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Chris Vogelsberg; her grandchildren John, Rebecca, David, Wendy and Jenny; and eight great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Maxwelton Road.
