Dorothy M. Brodie, 90, former South Whidbey resident, died at Homeplace Special Care Center in Oak Harbor on Sunday, June 7, 2009.
Mrs. Brodie was born in Sauk Center, Minn., on May 22, 1919.
After high school, she attended the University of Minnesota. She lived in Philadelphia, Pa. and Manila, the Philippines, before moving to Marin County, Calif., where she was employed at a law firm.
She became head of the accounting department for Lane Publications, publisher of Sunset Magazine and Books. She moved to Langley in 1983, and then on June 2, 2006, she moved to Oak Harbor with her husband, Robert F. Brodie. She was an active member of the Sierra Club.
Dorothy is survived by her husband. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Harold Keldahl.
In keeping with her wishes, no services will be held. Memorials are suggested to the Sierra Club or to National Public Radio.
