Douglas Wheeler

Douglas V. Wheeler passed away Feb. 10 2012, at the age of 72 in Freeland.

He was born to Merton L Wheeler and Edna  Weeler on June 7, 1939 in Yakima, Wash. He is survived by his wife Kathleen, son Dion Martin of Yakima, daughter Dannette Walker and husband Tony of Enumclaw, son Brook Wheeler of Alabama, along with brother Kerry Woitt of Yakima, sister-in-law Pauline Wheeler of California, sister-in-law Arlene Austin of California, and so many he considered family, not just friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Richard Wheeler of California, Gloria Wheeler, wife of 25 years, of Yakima, two nephews and many loved ones and friends.

Doug enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and any gathering with family, loved ones and friends. His biggest love in life was to make people smile and say “nice to meet you, Doug.”

The family would like to give special thanks to all who remained close to him as years passed and the many people he met wherever he went, who will be cherished and called friends (family).

Remembrance services will be held at the American Legion Post 141, 14096 Highway 525, Langley, on Saturday, March 31 at 1 p.m. Call 321-5696 for information.
