ElMar “Ellie” Louise Frye

Ellie passed away peacefully Oct. 9, 2014, in Everett, Wash. She was surrounded by her three children.

Ellie was born March 24, 1923, to Orin and Leah Shearer in Tacoma, Wash. She had four brothers and sisters. Ellie attended Lincoln High School in Seattle.

Ellie and her family lived on Mutiny Bay for many years. In May of 1973, she married Jim Frye and they made their new home in Vancouver, Wash., where they lived until October 2006 when they returned to beautiful Whidbey Island.

Ellie loved to play bridge, golf and put puzzles together. Most of all, she loved being around her family. She is survived by her children, Judi (Dave) Little, Dean (Cathy) Hatt and Sue (Jack) Terhar; grandchildren, Jennifer (Carl) Holloway-Factory, Kris (Steve) Jones, Suzi (Mike) Redman, Heather (Logan) Birch, Jon Greve’, Danielle (Pete) Samson and Courtney (Ben) Stingle. Ellie also had seven great-grandchildren, Jarrin, De’Andre, Jacob, Mason, Grace, Marshet and Ellie. She will be forever in our hearts.

A private family celebration of Ellie’s life will be held Oct. 18.
