Eugenia Hoertkorn

Eugenia Ella Hoertkorn, 87, passed away March 26, 2012 at her home in Greenbank, Wash.

She was born July 1, 1924 in Oklahoma City, Okla. to parents Walter and Edith Roark. She attended the University of Washington where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega. 

She was married to Walter Richard Hoertkorn, February 21, 1947 in Seattle Wash. They lived in Seattle for 25 years before moving to their beach house in Greenbank, Wash. on Whidbey Island where they enjoyed their retirement years. 

She was a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed golf and was an avid bridge player, forming lasting friendships with those in her bridge club and weekly lunch get-together with the “girls.” 

She is survived by her son Tom Hoertkorn, wife Mary, of Richland, Wash.; daughter, Joan Barkley of Everett; Wash., many lifetime friends, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren, who affectionately remember her as: “GG,” Dammy, and Mimi.

She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Hoertkorn, daughter Janet Faris, grandchild Alison Barkley and sister Marcie Olson. She will truly be missed. Notification of a memorial service in remembrance of her life will be announced at a later date.
