Gladys Maybelle Hutchinson

Gladys Maybelle Hutchinson peacefully left this world on Nov. 15, 2006, at her home in Clinton, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born on Aug. 23, 1930, in Seattle, Gladys and her husband relocated to Whidbey Island in 1960, where they raised their family.

Gladys was devoted to her children and was loved by those around her. She enjoyed the simple things in life, her garden, flowers, books, and she adored her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Gladys had a wonderful heart, opening her home to those in need, never judging or criticizing the actions of others. More often than not, she put the needs of others before her own. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and regarded all brothers and sisters her family.

Gladys is survived by her brother, Joe and his wife Diane and their family; three sons; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Langley.
