Glenn Robert Nichols, 85, passed away Jan. 28, 2008 at Home Place Oak Harbor after years battling Alzheimer’s.

He was born April 21, 1922 to Robert and Rachel Nichols in Pasadena, Calif.

Glenn moved to Whidbey Island in 1975. He married Valborg Lammert in 1977.

Glenn is survived by wife

Valborg; daughter Cheryl of California; son Paul of California; stepson Erik of Green Bay, Wisc.; and stepdaughter Mary of Langley; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and sisters Bea Norton of Clinton and Doris Muir of Portland, Ore.

Glenn joined the Navy in 1940. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor and served on the USS Raleigh.

Glenn was a member of the National Flag Association and worked hard to educate people on flag laws.

He will be missed by family and friends.

No services are planned.
