Jayson Matthew Edward Jelinek

Jayson Jelinek, 18, died suddenly on March 13, 2006 as the result of a car accident on Whidbey Island near the town of Langley, where he grew up and attended South Whidbey schools.

Jayson was born Nov. 1, 1987 in Everett.

He is survived by his father John of Everett; his mother Elaine of Freeland; his brother Michael; his grandparents Clyde and Genevieve Jelinek of Sultan; as well as great-grandmother Doris Jelinek, also of Sultan; Uncle Clyde Jelinek Jr. and his wife Karen and cousins Danielle, Derek and Lauren of Everett. Also maternal grandparents Shirley and Joe Racette, Auntie Teresa and cousins Kayla and Kyle of Everett; Uncle Gary Racette and wife Stephanie, cousins Andrew and Alicia of California; and several great-aunts and great-uncles and cousins in New Jersey.

Jayson is sadly missed by his extended family of relatives and countless friends. We will all miss Jayson’s special hugs, kisses, laughs and smiles from ear to ear, especially him always saying “I love you” whenever he would greet you, say goodbye to you or end a conversation on the phone.

Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 18 at St. Anne’s Mission on Tulalip Bay, Tulalip, with graveside services at 3:30 p.m. at the family plot at the Sultan Cemetery, Sultan. If you need directions or for further information please contact 360-793-1436 or g.jelinek@verizon.net.

Services on South Whidbey will be at 5 p.m. Monday, March 20 at the Assembly of God Church on Maxwelton Road in Langley.

In lieu of flowers contributions to the Jayson Jelinek Memorial Fund to benefit his brother, Mic Jelinek may be made at any branch of Whidbey Island Bank.
