Judy Bruneau

Judy Bruneau was born Judy Chunning on May 3, 1941 and passed early in the morning of July 14, 2010.

Judy met and married her first husband, Gunard Meier when she was 21. Together they had three children; Douglas, Heidi and Rachael. They soon divorced, however, and it wasn’t much later that she met her current husband of 25 years, Ken Bruneau. She kept up a friendship with Gunard which still stands today.

At 69, Judy had her hands full raising her three grandchildren; Lisa, Jessy and Jeff; children of Douglas and his wife Kimberly. She moved to Whidbey Island seven years ago to be closer to her son and grandkids.

Judy’s home was constantly filled with family, love, good food and many pets. Holidays a big deal in Judy’s home, she made each one a large and fun event. She frequented the soup kitchen in Langley and had many friends and enjoyed their company.

Judy enjoyed regaling with her grandkids with her funny exploits through life, often making them laugh till they cried. Judy enjoyed laughter and made sure it was a constant in her home. She loved history and art; encouraging the artistic talents of her grandkids with much enthusiasm. She dreamed of traveling the world with her daughter and granddaughter.

She is succeeded by her husbands, Gunard and Ken; her brother David Austin; her mother Gwen Massey; her children Douglas, Heidi and Rachael; and her grandchildren, Lisa, Jessy and Jeff.
