Ken McGoff died in Seattle on May 5, 2004, at the age of 82, after an extended period of illness. He was born October 4, 1921, to Iola and Peter McGoff Jr. in Port Angeles. Following his graduation from Port Angeles High School, he worked at Boeing as a riveter during World War II, where he met Sally Remshe, who became his loving wife until she passed away in 1998.
Mr. McGoff was a long-time employee of the Monroe Company where he worked as a technician until he retired in 1981. He was an avid camper, hunter, fisher, and inventor, and was an active member of the Washington Game Bird Club for over 30 years. Many remember him as an extremely genuine, good-hearted person with a large extended family, many friends and neighbors who loved him.
He is survived by his son Larry who has residences in Seattle and on Whidbey Island. Funeral service will be held at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills Chapel, 409 Filbert Road in Lynnwood at 11 a.m., May 14. Donations can be made to Children’s Hospital in Seattle.
John Rados
A memorial potluck will be held Sunday for John Rados at the South Whidbey American Legion Post at 1 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund has been set up at US Bank in Freeland for Mr. Rados’ daughter, Ashley Ludington.
