Knut Vik

Knut Kristian Vik passed away on Feb. 12, 2010 at his home in Langley.

His wife, Georgette, preceded him in death.

Knut was born in Strandvik, Norway to Johanna Agate Engelsdatter and Nils Johannessen Tredt Vik on July 4, 1924. He left Norway as a young adult to join the Merchant Marines, and then traveled the world.

Eventually Knut moved to Canada and then on to Anchorage, Alaska where he was a carpenter. Alaska is also where he became a naturalized citizen, and met and married Georgette.

After retiring, he made his home on Whidbey Island. Knut was a member of Holmes Harbor Rod & Gun.

Knut leaves two nieces in Norway, Jenny Hjornevik and Astrid Kvale; his sister and brother-in-law, Adrienne and Fred Troian of Haverhill, Mass.; his good friends, Chris Woldstad and Kristi Brown, and his friend and caregiver, Kathie Gabelein.
