Larry Hanan

Larry Gene Hanan arrived in heaven the morning of Friday, April 25, 2008. He was 61.

Larry was born May 15, 1947 in Enid, Okla. to Ivan Edward and Mary Elizabeth (Foale, Darst, Birchfield) Hanan of Hillsdale, Okla.

He was a commercial insurance underwriter and executive having worked for Aetna, Cravens/Dargan, CIGNA, F.B. Beattie/Safeco, Reliance, Sherwood, Westcap, Trinity and BCIC. Larry worked at other insurance companies and brokers offices, beginning his career in 1970. He was most recently employed at Fireman’s Fund Specialty, and served as Regional Primary Casualty Product Director for the company’s Northwest and Southwest Regions, in Irvine, Calif.

He graduated from Mount Vernon Union High School and Skagit Valley Community College, Mount Vernon and Central Washington University, Ellensberg. He was a former resident of Pond Creek, Okla., Lynnwood, Whidbey Island and Solvang, Palm Desert and Lake Forest, Calif.

Larry was a former member of the Elks, the Washington Athletic Club, Rainier Club and was a member of Pond Creek Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and both sets of grandparents, Vernon O. and Ida Hanan, Charles Guy and Elizabeth (Peggy) Foale. Larry is survived by his only daughter, Shawn M. Lee Hughes, and numerous cousins.

At his request there will be no services. His cremated remains will be interred at Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid, Okla.
