Laurie Ann Newell passed away on Nov. 10, 2019. She was born on Jan. 31, 1959 in Everett, Wash., the youngest daughter of Howard and Bonnie Newell. She lived her entire life on south Whidbey Island, and was a member of the Langley High School class of 1977.

Laurie loved animals and would never pass by an animal in need. She was known as a fun-loving person with a great sense of humor.

Laurie worked at PayLess Foods in Freeland, Wash., for 20 years before retiring a few years ago. She had many favorite customers and co-workers whom she loved, and they loved her too.

Laurie is survived by her son, Chris Yale, of Seattle, Wash.; her Mom, Bonnie Newell, of Clinton; her sister, Audrey Spencer (Jim), of Langley, Wash.; and her nephew, Brian Osborne (Meagan Kellogg), of Kirkland, Wash. Her Dad, Howard Newell, preceded her in death.
