On Jan. 30, 2014, our dear sister Mindie left this earth after a heroic five-year battle against breast cancer.

Her struggle in therapy was yet another example of the incredible human spirit and will to survive.

Mindie was gifted with the touch of an artist and the passion of an angel and a love for humankind.

All that knew her will always remember the light that radiated from within her and extended selflessly to all.

Mindie will live on in the memories of family, friends and patrons.

Her artwork will be a reminder of her love for nature expressed through a variety of mediums and presented with passion.

Mindie loved this Puget Sound and the islands that grace its waters.

She made her home in Seattle after living on Whidbey Island part-time from 1964 to 1976.

Mindie was preceded by her loving parents Lewie and Evie and, most recently, her son Guy. Mindie is survived by her husband Tim, daughter Devin, and three brothers, Brandt and his family, Patty and Jeromy; Dennis and his family Sue, Emily and Jessica; and Kevin, along with a multitude of friends.

A service will be held 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, at the Ballard Elks Club.
