Mary Ella Gaddis

Mary Ella Gaddis, 90, died May 15, 2003, in Coupeville.

She was born Dec. 23, 1912, in Doniphan, Mo., to Andrew and Bertha (Dell) Johnson. She was raised in Decatur, Ill.

Mary Ella married Carl Gaddis and lived in St. Louis, Mo., where she worked as a fashion buyer for Famous Barr.

After Carl’s death she married Morris Woosley. In 1983, she left Missouri and moved to Washington to be near her daughter. Mary lived the last 10 years in Greenbank. She loved cooking and was also an avid gardener.

Mary Ella lost her first daughter, Gwen Kae Gaddis, soon after birth. Her husband, Morris Woosley, also preceded her in death.

Mary Ella is survived by a daughter, Linda Albrecht, and husband, Tom, of Greenbank; a granddaughter, Cristine Albrecht, of Snoqualmie; and a grandson, Andrew Albrecht, and his wife, Tereisa, of Puyallup; and two great-grandchildren, Ariel and Logan Albrecht, also of Puyallup.

Mrs. Gaddis requested that no funeral services be conducted. Cremation was held, with private family inurnment to follow at a later date.
