Olga Hood

On February 11, Olga Hendrickson Nyburg died after a long long journey into the darkness of alzheimer’s disease. Although we are all deeply saddened by her passing, we are heartened by her freedom from suffering. Her sweet nature, her sense of humor and her beauty are some of the many things we will remember her for. May her soul take wing and fly to the light and freedom she so loved.

She is survived by 2 of her 4 siblings, all six of her children, 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She lived all over the US in her career as the wife of a Navy officer. From 1992- 2000, she lived half-time in Langley with her daughter Christine Nyburg.

A simple family service will be held this month in NewYork. Remembrances may be directed to research related to Alzheimer’s disease, or to Meerkerk Rhododendron Gardens.
