Pearl Smith

Pearl Smith, age 70, of Langley, died Nov. 13, 2010 in Seattle.

Pearl was born in 1940 in New Mexico to Joy and Marcella Bell. She was raised on an Oklahoma farm just outside Siloam Springs, Ark.

She graduated in 1958 from Watts High School as valedictorian and later studied ethics at Seattle University.

In 1967 she moved to Seattle where she met and married Rick Smith. She had a successful career in insurance.

Pearl was an avid gardener and loved to care for the birds in her garden sanctuary. She adored her family and lived for her three granddaughters Brianna and Rebecca Kelly and Emma Gorski.

She is survived and greatly missed by her husband Rick Smith; two daughters, Karen Kelly, Tiffany Gorski; 11 siblings, including Nancy Vanhooser; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
