Ray Randall

Ray “Bud” Robert Randall Jr., a former resident of Whidbey Island, died on Nov. 4, 2011.

Ray was born March 1, 1928, in Chehalis to Ray and Clara Randall. As a young boy, his family moved to Yakima, along with his two older sisters, Leota and Charlotte (Charlie).

He graduated from Yakima High School and Seattle University.

Ray was regarded by his peers as one of the best mortgage bankers in Seattle, retiring from Lane Mortgage.

Ray had custody of his two sons and did a great job of raising them with his wife, Lynn. Every October, he went to his duck club in Yakima with his two sons and grandson, Jeremy, to bird hunt. Ray was not the best golfer in the world, but loved playing with his “ole” cronies at Useless Bay Golf & Country Club where he was a member. He loved his home in Possession Shores and had the most beautiful yard for everyone to enjoy. He later moved to Ballard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Leota Randall Batie and ex-wife Joy LaCount Randall.

Ray is survived by his two sons, Robert Lee Randall and James Michael Randall (Ramona), both of Seattle; ex-wife of 27 years, Lynn R. Randall of Whidbey Island; sister Charlie Randall Walker of Ballard; two nephews, Greg and Gary Batie of Seattle; and cousins Leslie Benoit Hatton of Yakima and Wesley Charlton of Bethel, Alaska. Ray especially loved his four grandchildren Jeremy, Rashell, Braun and Ray Randall.
