Rex Neschke

Rex H. Neschke, 89, of Freeland, went to be with his Lord on July 10, 2010.

He was a longtime resident of El Segundo, Calif. and a graduate of El Segundo High School Class of 1939.

He moved to Whidbey Island in 1998 living with family until his recent move to Maple Ridge Assisted Living.

Rex was a retired electrical test engineer for McCulloch Corp. of Los Angeles. He enjoyed his family, was an avid reader, embraced life fully, and was delighted with the surrounding Whidbey Island beauty.

Rex is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Luthera L. Neschke who died in 1997.

He is survived by son Robert H. Neschke and wife Pamela of Freeland; daughter Kathryn B. Potterton and husband William of Fairfax, Va.; and three granddaughters, Victoria Zalkin and husband Austin of New York City, N.Y., Alison Hallifax and husband William of Bellevue, and Kathrine Neschke of Seattle.

In addition, he is survived by sisters-in-law Elaine Moyer and Josie Uecker, brother-in-law Donald Uecker and wife Arlene and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service and family gathering in his honor is being planned for 2011.
