Vincent Edward Fitzwilliam died peacefully in Coupeville on May 18, 2006, after a long battle with cancer.

He was born April 6, 1937 to Leo and Dorothy Fitzwilliam in Boston, Mass. He entered the Navy in June 1955, serving four years, on the U. S. McGinty.

Vince met Sally A. Gehrke, of Centralia, in Seattle in January of 1959. The were married

May 18, 1959.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Sally; sisters, Carol (Mike) Cecelya and Kathleen Fitzwilliam both of Massachusetts; children, Gretchen (Ken) Wilson and Ryan Fitzwilliam; and three grandchildren, Eric Koerner, Kyle Wilson and Kamryn Wilson.

Vince will be remembered as a loving husband, doting father and grandfather, a good neighbor and staunch friend.

At his request Vince would like remembrances in his name to be given for his granddaughter’s care at: Children’s Hospital in Seattle, 4800 Sand Point Way NE, Seattle, WA 98105. Kamryn E. Wilson (age 3) was diagnosed with ALL Leukemia in March of 2006. Ref: Med Rec # 743766.
