William Sievers Sylvester

William Sievers Sylvester passed away at his home on April 9, 2006, following a brave battle with cancer.

He was born in Tacoma on May 26, 1925, and was raised in Everett. He was the son of Edna Sievers Sylvester Dearstyne and Owen Sylvester.

Bill retired to Whidbey Island in 1980 after 35 years with Continental Can Co. His retirement years included nine years in Port Ludlow, where he enjoyed his favorite sport of boating.

After his return to Whidbey Island, he was active in Eastern Star, the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and the Shrine organizations.

He leaves his wife of 53 years, Helen; his sons, William Jr. and Scott; four grandchildren, Kristin, Kandace, Scott, and Jessica; and one great-grandchild, John.

At his request there will be no service.
