Bear Creek beats Falcons / Tennis

Missing three starters because of illness, the short-handed South Whidbey High School tennis team lost 4-1 at Bear Creek Monday, Oct. 7, in Redmond.

Levi Buck collected the Falcons’ lone win by taking first singles 6-1, 6-1.

Max Rodriguez dropped second singles 6-2, 6-1.

In doubles, Jordan Wu and Emmett Layman lost 7-5, 6-3; Austin Buck and Nick Black lost 6-2, 6-0; and Kaiden Wilson and Waylan Parsell lost 7-5, 6-3.

South Whidbey (3-7) hosts Overlake (5-5) at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11.
