The Falcon baseball team continued to improve. Although it had nothing to show for it in a 6-3 loss to Archbishop Murphy. Errors were again the downfall for South Whidbey as the Wildcats scored four unearned runs against.

Falcon pitcher Jack Lewis threw his best game of the season. The Wildcats scored two earned runs through six innings against Lewis. He threw the first complete game of the season for the Falcons.

With two outs in the fifth inning a Falcon error set up a three-run homerun (all three runs were unearned). It proved the difference in the game.

The bats came alive for the Falcons as they chased the Wildcats number one starter in the sixth inning. With Murphy picking up a lone run in the fourth inning the Falcons came right back to pick up two runs of their own in the top of the fifth to take a 2-1 lead.

The rally started with Aaron Curfman’s lead-off triple. Curfman scored on a Ben Jacobson-Ross single up the middle. Ross stole second then scored on a Riley Newman single.

In the top of the sixth inning the Falcons scored one run. Lewis his a lead-off double. Lewis was platted with a two out double by Mike Agate. Lewis and Agate led the Falcon hitters with two hits apiece.

The Falcons travel back to Archbishop Murphy for a double-header series that begins at noon on Saturday, April 2.
