South Whidbey’s girls soccer season is in a win-or-go-home scenario.

With the 4-12 overall regular season behind them following a 1-0 loss Saturday to Granite Falls, the Falcons are preparing for an elimination match against Blaine on Wednesday.

The Falcons will travel north to face the Blaine Borderites (5-9-1 overall) in a loser-out contest. To move on in the 1A District 1 playoffs, South Whidbey must win two games. Half of the eight-team playoff field advances to the 1A tri-district tournament.

South Whidbey qualified as the second-place 1A team from the Cascade Conference after beating Coupeville twice and losing both matches to King’s.
