Both squads are ranked in the top 10 list, as voted on by coaches. The Falcon boys are ranked seventh, just behind Cascade Conference rival King’s. The Falcon girls are ninth, ahead of King’s.

Of the top 10 boys teams, four are from District 1; five girls teams are from District 1.

South Whidbey’s runners will strive to improve their position and 5,000-meter times at the Bellevue Invite today at Lake Sammamish State Park in Issaquah. Thirty-one teams from across Washington and from all classifications – as large as 4A Garfield in Seattle and as small as 1A South Whidbey – are slated to compete.
