Falcons finish with a victory in girls soccer

The South Whidbey girls soccer team beat Coupeville 6-0 on Saturday. Paige Miller, Karissa Thomas and Jessica Manka each scored two goals to lead the Falcons to the Cascade Conference win.

Paige Miller, Karissa Thomas and Jessica Manka each scored two goals to lead the Falcons to the Cascade Conference win. Julia Iversen and Laurie Robinson were credited with two assists each and Natasha Kamps had one.

Coupeville finished its season at 2-12.

With the victory, South Whidbey (7-7 in league and overall) will play a crossover game at 6 p.m. today at Anacortes (7-6).

If the Falcons win, they’ll begin District 1 playoffs at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1 at Whatcom Community College.

But Anacortes comes first.

“They’re a balanced, steady team,” said Falcon coach Paul Arand. “If we play our best, which means play our game, we can beat them.”
