Get in nine holes of free par 3 golf at Island Greens this month.

Course manager Mike Zuercher announced the Community Appreciation Day in an email that promised free golf, a potluck and a chili cook off June 28. To participate in the cook off, make a pot of a homemade recipe and bring it to the course.

Golf will start at dawn and lasts until dusk. The potluck will start at 4 p.m. and last until 6.

The chili cook off will be judged by a panel and free golf and driving range tokens will be given for first, second and third place.
