Not one of South Whidbey’s golfers finished in the top five overall spots against Archbishop Murphy on Thursday.

The Wildcats claimed tying medalists with 80 strokes each. The Falcons’ top golfers posted 91 strokes at Battle Creek Golf Course in Marysville. Jordan Hoch and Jon Rasmussen tied for sixth place overall.

In the Cascade Conference dual match, Archbishop Murphy came out ahead. For the past few years, the conference crown was decided late in the season, usually at the conference championship. It appears the Wildcats have the top spot locked this season.

Archbishop Murphy’s top five golfers – who count toward the team’s score – all finished under 90 strokes.

South Whidbey’s other varsity golfers posted ninth-place and 10th-place finishes. Chase Collins, a senior, shot 98 strokes. Daniel Caron shot 99.
