Oak Harbor bocce player Jacquelyn Diaz made an impressive showing at the Special Olympics USA Games in Florida last month.
Diaz earned second place in singles and doubles bocce and fourth place in team bocce.
“The tournament was a great experience,” she said. “I had a few bumps early on, but I worked right through it.”
Diaz has been playing bocce since 2019 and has participated in the Special Olympics in a number of events since 2003. She plans to continue to pursue her Special Olympics dreams in the future.
