The Whidbey Crabs’ winning streak came to an abrupt halt as the MTYAA Badgers swept a Mother’s Day doubleheader.

The Crabs battled back in game one behind Josiah Seargent’s grand slam home run in the fifth inning. He followed the four-run jack with a two-run shot in the seventh.

It wasn’t enough as Whidbey dropped its first contest of the season, 10-8.

In the finale, the visiting Mountlake Terrace squad jumped out to an early three-run lead.

Will Simms tied the score in the bottom half with a three-run homer over the left field fence.

The Badgers continued to pound the ball back into a big lead. The Crab bats went silent as they dropped the second game, and 10-6.

The Crabs’ season record stands at 9-2.
