Why do the mayor of Langley and the city council want to break their oaths of office to uphold state and federal laws and make Langley a “sanctuary city?”

Are the “advocates,” so called, those who want to invite more of the criminal element into the area and give them freedom to perform their nefarious acts? We currently have too much crime on Whidbey. Why exacerbate it by catering to the babblers ignoring the safety of law abiding citizens, children and vulnerable ones?
