Island County to show off geographic information system

Earlier this year, several county departments launched new websites featuring geographic information system (GIS) capabilities, and now the county is showing off those resources.

The Island County GIS Day open house is from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16 in the Board of Commissioners Hearing Room in Coupeville. Resources from numerous departments will be featured in both PDF and online formats.

The theme for the night, according to a press release, is “GIS problem/solution,” detailing problems the county has encountered and how those issues have been solved by GIS.
