Get rid of old tires Saturday, April 20, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Coupeville Transfer Station, behind the recycling area. Do you have tires taking up room in your yard and garage? Or providing a breeding ground for thousands of mosquitoes that can hatch each year from the puddle in a single tire?

Recycle passenger car and light truck tires at a greatly reduced rate of $2.25 each off rim or $4 on rim. Tires should be reasonably clean, not full of dirt or Styrofoam.

Call for arrangements if you have more than 100 tires. No large truck tires, tractor tires, lawn tractor tires or airplane tires. Volunteers from WSU Waste Wise and WSU Beach Watchers will assist.
