Jim Odle

Jim Odle passed away at the age of 79 at home in Sandy Hook.

Jim and his wife Sandy moved with their children to Whidbey Island, Wash., in 1979. He started his own business, Odle Masonry. He established a reputation as a master craftsman and a true gentleman.

He and Sandy enjoyed sailing. He was also a life-long member of the “International Union of Bricklayers and Trowel Trades,” where he received a hallmark honor pin recognizing his 50 years of Union Membership. He retired from bricklaying in 1997.

Jim had a love for the game of golf. He was also a sports car enthusiast, and he purchased a convertible Miata and joined the Puget Sound Miata Club of Seattle.

Jim is survived by his four children, Greg, Tristan, Erik and Gretchen; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his sister, Kay; and his friend and companion, Kathy.

Jim has requested that donations in his name be made to the SWYC Youth Sailing, PO Box 316, Greenbank, WA 98253; the Saratoga Chamber Orchestra, PO Box 1524 Langley, WA 98260; SWSD c/o High School Jazz Band 5520 Maxwelton Road, Langley, WA 98260; or Equestrian Crossings of Whidbey Island, PO Box 55 Coupeville, WA 98239, in lieu of flowers.
