Published 2:56 pm Thursday, July 16, 2009
A public hearing on the city’s plans for Wharf Street at the Langley marina will be later this month in Langley.
The hearing, conducted by the city’s Planning Advisory Board, will
be 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, in the council chambers at Langley City Hall.
Considered will be an amendment to the city’s municipal code to create new standards for future development in the area.
The amendment would add a new chapter to the code creating a Wharf Street Overlay District that would establish standards for new development.
The area considered is south from the northern limit of the Boatyard Inn. Amendments are proposed that would alter the toe of the slope setback, permitted uses, height regulations and parking and design standards.
Written comments for the record also may be sent to Larry Cort, city planning director, PO Box 366, Langley, WA 98260 or submitted during the hearing.
