District office for South Whidbey schools may have tenant

Seven months of vacancy may end this Friday for the South Whidbey School District’s former administration building.
The school board will review a lease agreement Wednesday night for Creativity Source. Michela Angelini will run the production company at the former district office on Camano Avenue near Langley Middle School.
The agreement is for three months and $2,500 per month. Angelini must notify the school district by July 1 if the lease will be renewed for another year, until Aug. 31, 2014. Utilities will be paid by Creativity Source, not the school district.
South Whidbey school administration vacated the building during the summer of 2012. District leaders wanted to shrink the schools’ “footprint” and consolidate its office space. The business office joined the district’s maintenance and transportation center on Maxwelton Road.
Two other school facilities are leased by the district. The two-story building on the middle school campus is rented by Island Dance Theatre, and Bayview School houses continued learning program Whidbey Island Community Education Center.
