South Whidbey led Mount Baker through the first three quarters of an elimination game in the 1A District 1 boys basketball tournament on Thursday, Feb. 12. But the Mountaineers looked up to their towering forward, 6-foot-8 junior Tim Soares, who led the way with 29 points, including several field goals in the final three minutes to come from behind and advance to the bi-district tournament.
