South Whidbey Fire/EMS welcomed seven new volunteers to their team, the district announced at the monthly commissioner’s meeting Thursday night.

The new additions come as Chief Rusty Palmer said the district is struggling with staffing, given the ever-increasing amount of emergency calls.

The additions include John Gallip, Carrie Allen, Mark Jabbusch, Naomi Blair, Lisa Forrester, Amanda Walsh and Peter Salveson.
