Letter: Trump administration’s policies are distressing

Editor,

I live in Langley and I am an American citizen. I was born in Montreal, Canada but my parents became naturalized American citizens in the early 1960’s when I was 11 years old.

I was told last week by an individual at Social Security in Everett that I am an illegal alien. Trump’s policy at it’s worst.

I am 67 years of age and have debilitating back problems and will be going in for my fourth surgery soon. I was on SS Disability for 10 years before I turned 65 and no one has ever doubted my citizenship before. Luckily I’ve had a United States passport for over 50 years, so I shall take my current passport over to Everett to show proof that I am not an illegal alien.

How many other people in this country are having to go through this? It’s very distressing.
