Bayview Corner gets wi-fi hotspot | BIZ BEAT

Whidbey Telecom is adding a new wi-fi hotspot at Bayview Corner.

Whidbey Telecom is adding a new wi-fi hotspot at Bayview Corner.

As a result, Bayview Farmers Market customers and vendors will be able to easily access the internet on market days this year.

Equipment installed this week will broadcast a signal to cover the entire Bayview Corner. Service is expected to run during the opening day of the market, Saturday, April 27.

The wi-fi signal will be available at no charge to Whidbey Telecom customers.

Other visitors can purchase internet time by the hour, states a Whidbey Telecom news release.

The Bayview Corner hotspot is the fifth offered by Whidbey Telecom. Other locations are in downtown Langley and Langley Marina, Highway 525 from Anchor Books to the ferry dock, Useless Bay Golf and Country Club, and the Whidbey Telecom Customer Experience Center and WiFire Coffee Bar in Freeland.

“We’re excited about this new service which will give our customers and vendors access to the web during the market,” said Shirlee Read, market president. “We appreciate Whidbey Telecom’s extension of the service in time for the 2013 market season.”
