Best of Whidbey contest opens for voting

The Best of Whidbey voting round is officially open.

The Best of Whidbey voting round is officially open, giving residents and visitors the opportunity to vote for their favorite businesses, services and personalities across the island.

Presented by the Whidbey News-Times and the South Whidbey Record, this annual event celebrates the exceptional achievements of individuals and organizations that make Whidbey Island an extraordinary place to live, work and explore.

During the nomination round held in August, readers passionately shared their recommendations and put forth the names of the most deserving candidates. Now, it’s time for the public to make their voices heard by voting for the best of the best. The voting round will run from Sept. 15 to Sept. 30, offering ample time for everyone to participate and support their local favorites.

From culinary delights and shopping experiences to professional services and community organizations, the Best of Whidbey awards cover a wide range of categories. This comprehensive showcase provides an opportunity for the community to recognize and appreciate the exceptional contributions of local businesses and individuals.

The Best of Whidbey Special Section will be published on Nov. 4, where the winners of each category will be revealed to readers. This dedicated section serves as a testament to the remarkable talent, dedication and commitment that abound on Whidbey Island.

To honor the winners and celebrate their accomplishments, an awards gala will be held on Nov. 2 at the Elks Lodge in Oak Harbor. This event will bring together the best and brightest from the community, providing an unforgettable evening of networking, celebration and recognition.

“We are thrilled to announce the opening of the Best of Whidbey voting round,” said Kim Minervini, advertising director of the Whidbey News-Times and South Whidbey Record. “This event allows the community to actively participate in recognizing the outstanding businesses and individuals who consistently go above and beyond to make Whidbey Island exceptional.
