To the editor:

National Staff Appreciation week is May 2-6. I wanted the community to know about it in hopes that as many people as possible will show their appreciation for the teachers and staff at our schools.

We have dedicated, hard-working, talented people working in our schools, making a difference in not only the lives of our children, but in the very future of our community, nation, and world.

Please take a moment to write a note, send a flower, a truffle, or whatever clever thing you can think of, to let staff in our schools know they are appreciated and valued.  These have been tough years, and it’s not over yet. With uncertainty, cuts, leadership changes etc., this is the time to help lift spirits and show we are behind them; that they are our champions.

Thank you for anything you can do to make these wonderful, caring people feel the support and love of their community, parents and students.
