Letter: Gill would be calm, effective as Langley mayor

Editor,

I support Thomas Gill for Langley mayor for many reasons. Not only does he have the support of many past elected city council members, he’s also got the strong support of Tim Callison, the prior two-term mayor.

The people who served you in the past admire Thomas because they also served with him in the past.

One thing about Thomas you may not realize – he’s extremely polite. This means he’s got excellent listening skills, which is a very rare commodity these days.

His deep municipal knowledge has been earned over 14 years experience in city governing and advisory positions. Most recently, he’s been eight years as a city council member; prior to that he served four years on the Planning Advisory Board (and was selected as chair) and served two years on the Civil Service Board.

I’ve known Thomas for nearly 20 years. As mayor, he will lead calmly and effectively. I think we can all agree that calm, effective leadership is critically important.

Your vote is not just a choice – it is an investment in a better Langley. His experience cannot be understated – experience matters far more than most realize.

Please vote for Thomas Gill for mayor; you can count on him!
