LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Actions speak loudest of all

To the editor:

Norma Smith does not represent me. I have looked at her voting record, and it speaks volumes about her ideology, which is anything but bipartisan. Again, and again, she proves that it is more important to her to stick with the narrow, conservative ideology of her Republican Party, than to put the needs of people first.

She voted against providing assistance to homeless individuals and families, against affordable housing development, against the building communities fund for helping distressed communities and under served low-income populations, against keeping high hazard pesticides out of our schools, against limiting the use of mechanical, chemical, and physical restraints on school children, against state economic development programs, and against the mental health first aid education program.

These are just a few examples of the many issues where Norma Smith failed to recognize that when you take care of the least among us, it benefits the entire community.

Norma Smith might say that she cares about people, but her actions speak louder than words.
