To the editor:

The Board of Directors of the Whidbey General Hospital Foundation wants to express its appreciation for all the volunteers who helped make the 2008 Tour de Whidbey a stunning success again this year.

The tour is the primary fundraising event for the foundation every year. This year the proceeds are committed to the Soroptomist International of Oak Harbor’s campaign to purchase digital mammography equipment for the North Whidbey Community Clinic.

With the hard work of community volunteers, in-kind contributions from local businesses and the support of ride contributors and sponsors, the foundation will meet its commitment of $35,000.

As always in this wonderful community, we have done together what we could not do alone. Blessings upon you all.
