LETTER TO THE EDITOR | Liberals have learned nothing

To the editor:

“The conduct of the Republican Party in this nomination is a remarkable indication of small intellect, growing smaller. They pass over … statesmen and able men, and they take up a fourth-rate lecturer, who cannot speak good grammar.”

You would think that this is today’s elite media or the Obama administration talking about Sarah Palin.

Actually, it was the elite media of the May 16, 1860 edition of the New York Herald commenting on Abraham Lincoln’s nomination for president at the Republican National Convention.

The liberals have learned nothing and are no more accurate today than they were in 1860.
