LETTER TO THE EDITOR | Pope’s loss hurts

Editor,

We were very saddened to hear of Henry Pope’s passing. During the time I covered him for The Record, he was a man of integrity, exuberance, warmth and humor who really, really cared about the athletes in his charge.

He was the very model of an outstanding high school coach.

Our hearts go out to his family and his teams at South Whidbey High School.
